TOUR SIENA AND SAN GIMIGNANO

The guests of Palazzo Leopoldo can get advantage of our organized tours for discovering Chianti and Tuscany. Two towns that can’t be missed while staying in Chianti are Siena and San Gimignano.

The tour starts from Palazzo Leopoldo, where guests will be meeting the tour guide. Secondly, a transfer in a private car to the wonderful town of Siena. Once in Siena, a guide will tour them in the historical centre of Siena. The Campo Square, the Town Hall, SAN Domenico Church, the Santa Caterina sanctuary - the patron of Europe - and the Cathedral, ending in the Museum of Santa Maria alla Scala, will be the major places which can be visited. In addition, your guide will be glad to suggest you the most typical restaurants for your lunch.

In the afternoon, heading towards San Gimignano, the so-called Town of the Towers. In San Gimignano you will be guided through the Dome, with its three naves and its precious frescoes belonging to the famous Senese school, the Town Hall, where you will find the Dante Room with the Maestà of Lippo Memmi, the Saint Agostino Church, where you will have the chance of admiring the remnants of frescoes dating back to the three hundreds on the Stories of Saint Agostino, together with paintings of several different authors. Furthermore, oour guests have the chance of visiting hte Civic Museum and the Pinacoteque with masterpieces of Filippo Lippi, aka Pinturicchio. From the Civic Museum it is possible to visit the Torre Grossa or the Podestà Tower, built in 1311 and 54 mt. high.

TOUR FIRENZE

If you spend some time in Tuscany, it is compulsory paying a visit to Florence, one of the most important sites for art and architecture, with its several historical buildings, monuments and museums.

The tour starts from Palazzo Leopoldo, where guests will be meeting the tour guide. Following, a transfer with a private car towards the Tuscan capital town. Once in Florence,, a guide will tour them through the historical centre. Piazza della Signoria, Loggia dei Lanzi, Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore and the Baptistry will be the will be the major places which can be visited. To make the artistic discovery more intense, the tour will go on with a visit to the renowned Galleria degli Uffizi, where masterpieces such the Botticelli Spring are preserved.In addition the tour guide will be glad to suggest our guests the most typical fiorentine restaurants and the most characteristic and elegant stores for shopping.

In the afternoon our guests will have the chance of visiting the charming Ponte Vecchio, famous for its jewelry stores, with its fascinatine views on the river Arno, such tightly linked to the history of Florence. The discovery of Florence is going on with the tour of Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli gardens.

TOUR PISA AND LUCCA

This tour also starts from Palazzo Leopoldo, where the guide meets the guests. Following, a transfer with a private car towards the wonderful town of Pisa. Arrival in Pisa, guided tour of the the main historical monuments, Piazza dei Miracoli, the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Baptistry and the Cemetery. In addition the tour guide will be glad to suggest our guests the most typical restaurants for lunch and some shopping as well.

Early in the afternoon heading towards Lucca, the enchanting medieval town within its walls, example of romanesque architecture. Guided tour of the San Frediano Cathedral. Pf the famous Market Square, and of the ancient palaces in gothic roman style. In addition the tour guide will be glad to suggest our guests the most characteristic stores of Lucca.
